KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA Moga
 

Krishi Vigyan Kendra is a district level institution engaged in transfer of latest agricultural technologies to the farmer community for realization of potential productivity of crops for betterment of farm-livelihood.Krishi Vigyan Kendra Moga became operational in April, 2005 with full financial support from Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and working under administrative control and technical support of Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. KVK is situated in village Budhsinghwala on Charik-Smadh Bhai road in Moga-I block of district Moga at the distance of 15 km from main bus stand of Moga.KVK is located at 30045'23" North and 75009'48" East 220 m above sea level. It is well connected by road and train. KVK, Moga is at a distance of 165 kms from state capital Chandigarh and 67 km from Ludhiana. Nearest airport is Rajasansi Airport, Amritsar at a distance of 110 kms.

The KVK works on the principle of 'Learning by doing' to serve to the rural community of the district by organizing various trainings programmes for farmers, farm women and unemployed rural youth. KVK also conducts in-service trainings for the field functionaries of different departments e.g. department of Agriculture, horticulture, Soil conservation and the Anganwari workers from Child Development Project Office. Apart from this, KVK also conducts on-farm trials for the refinement of Agricultural Technologies. Front Line demonstrations are conducted at the farmer's fields to demonstrate the worth of new varieties and agricultural technologies to the farmers as well as to the extension workers.
